Troubled Waters

As I was having breakfast with God this morning, and I may have been whining just a little bit. It seems like everything around us is crashing down all at once. I swear I hear thunder and the earthshaking every time something else goes wrong. I admit I have felt overwhelmed, ready to throw in the towel, and have found at least a dozen straws that would break the camels back. Yet I know we are not in this alone, if we were I would give up, we have the one who controls everything, God. He shared these verses with me....

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy." James 1:2 (NLT)
For when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. So let it grow, and don't try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete." James 1:3-4 (TLB)

I must admit I haven't been seeing the joy in any of these situations lately. I have been focused on what else could go wrong. If I stop and think about it I know I can find joy in each and every situation. God gives us challenges to help us grow in our faith with Him. Bad things do happen to good people, because we live in a fallen world with free choice. We have to lean on God!

In Him and through Him we can see anything through!
